I have traveled to, and lived in, many parts of the world where I have seen people and places that inspired me to paint. I want to show how much beauty and wonder there is in the world. I paint to elicit an emotional response as well as understanding and empathy. I use bold colours to create the emotion, overemphasizing the beautiful colours around us that are so often taken for granted.I paint in my studio using reference photos gathered from my travels around the world. I paint with oils and attempt to create texture, depth and transparency as well as boldness and light to balance the paintings. My current work includes animals, florals and landscapes: I wish to show the allure of nature, a feeling of atmosphere and a sense of wonder to stimulate the senses.
