Forest Wood Studio grew from a background of working on large scale theatrical sets and event production. As a production carpenter, I built intricate touring sets from 3D model box designs. Based in the Production Workshop at the Royal Theatre in Northampton, I worked on sets for national tours in conjunction with the Everyman and Globe Theatres. Freelance production carpentry work took me to Cannes Film Festival and industry events in Barcelona. As Covid lockdowns closed theatre and events across the country, my focus shifted to creating well-designed, functional and lovely pieces for people’s homes, and Forest Wood Studio grew from there.A subsequent move to the Forest of Dean created a natural connection between quality joinery and locally sourced timber. I've focused on working in oak, bringing out the beautiful textures, knots and grains of this rich hardwood through my hand made furniture and cabinets.
