Glass Artist

More Info

I am an artist working with kiln-formed glass, specialising in two-dimensional freestanding pieces and, occasionally, vessels.
You can find my work at Made in Ross Gallery, located in the historic Market House in the centre of Ross-on-Wye.

Although my work may look painted, it isn’t. I create each piece by carefully hand-cutting glass sheet or arranging glass chips and powders, layering them like a painting to build depth and texture. Some elements are made separately before being combined, as a result much of my work requires three or four kiln firings—each lasting around 14 hours.

I am fascinated by the strength and fragility of glass, and how I can shape it through heat and cold working. Light plays a key role in my work, with texture and refraction creating atmosphere, depth, and movement. I use additional materials including silver leaf, copper, mica, dichroic coatings, 24ct gold, and techniques such as glass carving and engraving to craft pieces that capture light in unexpected ways and that hopefully spark an emotional response.

Always curious and with a passion for discovery and craftsmanship, I am continuously exploring new techniques—experimenting in my studio and learning from glass artists around the world.

I also offer workshops in fused glass from my Bridstow studio, next to St. Bridget’s Church. Whether you’re a complete beginner or simply curious, these hands-on sessions will guide you through the process of safely cutting and assembling glass to create your own decorative pieces. All materials and tools are provided—just bring your imagination!

Workshops are open to ages 16+, no prior experience needed. Please contact me for more information.
