Sue Bamford Art
More Info
The inspiration for my artwork comes from exploring and looking at wild landscapes and the natural world. My notebooks, sketches made outdoors, and photos, are the foundation for a final image, or series of images. These develop organically, sometimes in unexpected ways. I use a variety of media, including acrylic, gouache, oil pastel, collage, ink, watercolour, and charcoal. I enjoy experimenting with different combinations of media, which may produce unexpected and exciting results. In recent years I have developed an interest in printmaking. I started with lino cutting at the Trinity Arts Workshop in Dublin, about 12 years ago. Since moving to the Forest of Dean in 2016, I have continued to explore different areas of printmaking. Most recently I have developed an interest in printing from collagraphs. I use found objects and textured surfaces to create my collagraph plates, embracing the frequently unexpected results.Contact Details
