The Glass Lady - Michele Ismay
Since retiring 8 years ago I have been exploring the world of fused glass. I enjoy the process of adding different shapes, colours and layers to create bold and vibrant scenes/pieces.
I also enjoy the ability to change the texture and appearance of similar products by varying the heat within the kiln. Due to the heat, cutting and other factors, no two pieces can ever be identical.
This last year I have been making unique decorative pieces using old cast iron wheels and adding fused glass flower scenes within the wheel spoke configurations. The wheels are either free standing or mounted on hardwood plinths and can be displayed indoors or outdoors.
