I have always worked with wool, and used it in many ways. I used it spun into yarn on my knitting machine to knit either into jumpers or lengths for fabric, which I then felted, and used it to make garments, accessories or soft furnishings.
I love colour, and exploring processes. I use carded wools to make wet felt. using it to “paint” with. I love that it is so varied, both in texture and colour, and that it can be used in in so many different ways. It can be delicate, onto silk chiffon to create fabrics which are fine light and warm, wonderful for shawls and garments, or it can be heavy enough for rugs or even yurts. It also lends itself to working into extraordinary 3d shapes for hats, vessels and sculptures.
I have recently been moving away from making felts , and have been exploring using machine embroidery, and embellishing or hand stitching onto other materials and am also working on ideas for incorporating papers and using papier mâché.

I run feltmaking workshops, from introductory courses, making pictures, flowers, jewellery or decorations, to making hats, slippers, bags, or vessels, all which can be made in a day
