Dan is a mixed-media artist and printmaker who takes inspiration from the wildlife and countryside found around his home in the Wye Valley on the border of England and Wales.He spends as much time as he can in the field, sketching fleeting moments of interaction between creatures and their environment, and building understanding through close observation. In the studio he explores these moments further playing with mixed media and printmaking techniques, striving to find balance between a purely representational approach and the more abstract expression of how it feels.
His work is concerned with the beauty and fragility of our world and aims to show people how he sees it, inspiring them to look deeper and take better care of our shared environment.
