Life on the Knoll
More Info
Up-cycling is at the heart of my practice; I re-purpose as much as possible e.g. fabrics, buttons, lace, packaging and found objects both natural and man-made. I create many different items including aprons for both adults and children, needle-cases, pictures, jewellery and soft sculptures, e.g. unicorns, hares, dragons and birds. My creations are often further embellished with hand embroidery. I am inspired by nature, lived experiences, my Welsh heritage and mythical creatures. My concern for our planet and all that inhabit it, is reflected in my work.I am a member of FarOpen Artists and Crafty Crew. My work sells through FarOpen group exhibitions, Dean Heritage Museum, and The Victoria Fearn Gallery. I also volunteer with Canopy Arts.
Public Commissions include banners for GRASAC and a wall-hanging "Hunter's Moon" for Wye Valley Country Store and Restaurant, Chepstow.
I am currently using oddments of wool leftover from my knitting projects, to create a crocheted blanket. I am also upcycling a blind into a banner and creating eye-catching artworks from packaging and paint.
