Inspired By Nature:
My work is a celebration of nature's fleeting beauty, crafted on an ever-changing canvas.

I am joining the Summer Exhibition this year at the Dean Heritage Centre, in Soudley. Studio 55 from 21st June to 13th July, alongside many other artists. I will be stewarding on Friday 4th & Friday 11th July. Pop in and say 'Hello'

I explore the delicate harmony between the natural world and artistic expression, with a special focus on the ancient art of Encaustic Wax. The fluidity of melted wax and oil paint, allows me to preserve delicate details while adding depth, light, shadow and movement, when creating tactile vases and paintings. My vases are like mini landscapes; with floral expression through to scenes of my forest surroundings, using natural foliage to embed every vein where possible. Oil paint then allows the delicate details to come to life. Every vase is unique and will compliment any home. Wax is also associated with a 16th Wedding Anniversary if you are looking for that special gift. My paintings are a mix of varying styles; mark making, oils, paints and other mixed media to bring depth and movement to what I produce. I am to bring texture to all my paintings, expressing how I see my surroundings.

My passion for nature extends beyond direct impressions; it fuels my exploration of texture and atmosphere, creating paintings that express the soul of the landscape that inspire me. Each piece invites a closer look, revealing hidden layers of colour, mark making and meaning. Blending organic textures, botanical elements and layered pigments, creating art that feels ethereal with timeless elegance.

From floral fashion and home decor to immersive workshops, my creations invite others to connect with the elegance of flowers and sustainable artistry. I use sunlight to create cyanotype prints, an age-old photographic process that captures the finer details of botanical specimens. Layering plant material and exposing them to produce one-of-a-kind impressions in shades of deep blue and white. These are not merely visual; they are tactile and evocative. The intricate veins of a leaf, or the soft curves of petals are preserved in breathtaking detail, a testament to nature's artistry. I aim to capture the transient moments that often go unnoticed and transfer my designs onto fashion-wear and accessories that can be purchased through a third party in my Etsy shop.

Summary.
Whether adorning a home, a wardrobe, or a gallery wall, my creations invite you to pause and reconnect with the natural world, offering a reminder of the beauty that surrounds us every day. I tell a story with nature, preserved and re-imagined, designed to evoke wonder, serenity and connection.

Thank you for popping by - Regards Paula.

My cyanotype work can be seen and purchased at Taurus Crafts in Lydney.
