I work with wool, and use it in many ways. I use it spun into yarn on my knitting machine to knit either into jumpers or lengths for fabric, which I then felt, and use it to make garments, accessories or soft furnishings.

I love colour, and exploring processes. I use carded wools to make wet felt. using it to “paint” with. I love that it is so varied, both in texture and colour, and that it can be used in in so many different ways. It can be delicate, onto chiffon to create Nuno fabrics, which are fine light warm fabrics, wonderful for shawls and garments. Or heavy enough for rugs or even Yurts. It also lends itself to working into extraordinary 3d shapes for hats, vessels and sculptures.

I have been exploring methods of deconstructing fabrics and yarns, then recycling them using weaving, hand knitting, machine embroidery, embellishing or hand stitching to create new items.

I run feltmaking workshops, from introductory courses, making pictures, flowers, jewellery or decorations, to making hats, slippers, bags, or vessels, all which can be made in a day.

Any of my courses can be booked directly by emailing me on: waygoodchristine@gmail.com
