The Forest of Dean has been my home since the early 1980s. My artistic journey began during my studies in Cheltenham, where I trained as an architect. It was there that I had the unique opportunity to study alongside art students across various disciplines. This exposure to diverse creative practices sparked my interest in ceramics, and I began experimenting in the pottery studio—a enthusiasm that has stayed with me ever since.

In 2007, when the local ceramics classes at Five Acres College were discontinued, I helped establish Clay Hill Potters near Newnham with the support of many others. This community of potters has been a great source of inspiration and friendship.

I primarily create functional stoneware pieces, often thrown on the wheel but occasionally incorporating slab techniques. My work is guided by a desire to craft everyday items that are both beautiful and practical. In recent years, I have explored the use of coloured glazes and slips, drawing inspiration from the views of the River Severn that I see from my home each day.
