More Info

I am a stained glass artist from the Forest of Dean. I love to make bright colourful windows! In addition to creating my own work in copper foil and lead, I also teach classes in both methods.

I have been creating stained glass for many years. As a teenager I painted onto jam jars and mirrors for friends and family. After a chance opportunity arose to have some lessons in stained glass with a local artist, I began my journey of learning the craft.

I use both the copper foil method (Tiffany technique) and the traditional leaded light method to create bespoke windows for secular spaces, as well as wall art, candle holders and smaller hanging pieces. I also repair windows and lampshades, and teach classes from my workshop in Lydney Park Estate.

Working in the medium of stained glass is an ever evolving process that I am always improving upon. My window designs often include long flowing lines and circles and I love to create a feeling of balance in my work. I sometimes use glass beads, wire and other found objects to add texture and contrast. I also enjoy painting on glass using traditional Reusche paint and ancient techniques, which adds so much more detail and depth to my work.

When I’m not creating my own work I teach beginners classes, bespoke classes for more experienced learners and I run a regular drop-in studio time for returning students. I find that I have a good balance between working on my own and having company in the workshop. I love my creative space, it is the place where I am able to escape from the world and practice mindfulness. I consider myself very lucky to be in this profession.
